Comprehensive Eye Exams
Exceptional Eye Care … Beyond Your Eyes. — A Complete Eye Health Experience.
At Vision Source West Sahara, we don’t just check your eyes — we safeguard your vision and overall eye health with advanced technology, personal care, and a trusted local team.
Why a Comprehensive Eye Exam Matters
Your eyes do more than let you see — they reveal clues about your overall health. A comprehensive eye exam at Vision Source goes far beyond reading a chart.
- Many eye diseases show no symptoms until damage has occurred.
- During your exam we’ll also screen for underlying health conditions — like diabetes or high blood pressure — that can first appear in the eyes.
- Whether you’re 8 or 80, a regular comprehensive exam is one of the most effective ways to maintain clear, comfortable vision and catch issues early.
- At our Las Vegas practice, we combine the national Vision Source commitment to “Advanced Eye Care Services / State-of‐the-Art Technology / Unmatched Personal Care” with deep local expertise and a community-first mindset.
What to Expect
Here’s a step‐by‐step look at your visit so you know exactly how we work, what we’ll do, and how we’ll partner with you for healthy vision.
- Arrival & Intake
When you arrive, we’ll gather your relevant medical and vision history — everything from medications to screening for risk factors like diabetes, family history of eye disease, or frequent computer use. - Preliminary Testing
A technician may guide you through tests such as:- Visual acuity (how well you see at various distances)
- Eye pressure (tonometry) for glaucoma risk
- Autorefractor and other devices to estimate lens power
- Digital Imaging
- Comprehensive Exam with the Doctor
Our optometrist will perform a full evaluation including:
-
- Refraction: determining your precise glasses/contact prescription
- Slit lamp exam: a microscope check of front‐eye structures (cornea, lens, etc.)
- Retina exam: which may include images, OCT scans, or drops that widen your pupils so we can examine the retina, optic nerve and back of the eye for early disease detection.
- Binocular/visual-function testing: how your eyes work together, track, move, focus.
- Discussion & Personalized Plan
After the exam, your doctor will review findings with you:
-
- “Here’s our recommendations” (new glasses/contacts, lifestyle changes, next steps, referrals if needed)
- We’ll answer your questions and collaborate with you on how your visual lifestyle (screen-time, driving, sports, work) intersects with your visual needs.
- Follow-Up & Ongoing Care
-
- Based on your age, health status, and vision demands, we’ll recommend how often to return.
- Because Vision Source West Sahara uses advanced diagnostic tools and frames/contacts from the best brands, we can help you move into high performance vision options when your lifestyle demands them.
- We’re your local partner for clear vision today — and for protecting your eye health long into the future.
Who Should Book One?
- If you’ve never had a full eye exam (or it’s been more than 12-24 months) — now is the time.
- If you’re experiencing any of the following: frequent headaches, blurry vision, difficulty focusing, more screen fatigue, halos at night, dry eyes, — we’ll want to see you.
- If you have risk factors such as family history of glaucoma or macular degeneration, diabetes, high blood pressure, or heavy screen/near-work demands.
- If you’re a child or teen — it’s not just about “can you read the big E”. A full exam checks how the eyes track, team and focus — things critical to learning and performance.
- If you’re over 40 — vision changes, presbyopia and age-related disease risk increase.
